It would depend on the specific requirements and features desired, but some possible alternatives to PVM for Windows could be Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, or CorelDRAW.
To transfer the PVM software from one PC to another, you can either copy the installation files to the new PC and run the installer, or you can transfer the installed software by copying the program folder to the new PC.
I purchased PVM before and I am getting a new laptop. Do I need to get a code to move it to my new computer?

If you still have the previous code, then you can uninstall the application and install it again. If you don't have the installation package, access the link posted below and continue with the installation. At the end of the installation you will be asked to enter the licence code. Paste it exactly as you have it and the software will be registered.
If the licence key doesn't allow multiple activation, then yes, you need to buy a new code from the developers website.
I bought a license for two computers and I've only installed PVM on one. I want to install the application on a new computer, then remove it from the old one. How do I do this?

Download the PVM - Pattern Viewer and Manager installer on your second (new PC), run it and at the end of the installation process type in your license key. If everything works according to plan, you can then go ahead and uninstall the tool from the other computer.
However, just so you know, it's very likely that removing the application from your old computer won't allow you to install PVM on a third device.
In case you run into any troubles, or you have additional questions regarding licensing, I recommend contacting the developers directly using this email address: [email protected]

Even if you rename or perform additional operations, the patterns can be found in the same location with the patterns that have been left unmodified. There is no other way around it. The program doesn't offer much of an information related to naming, storing, managing, etc. Just rename the patterns and then access them from the database. Additionally use File > Import to get them into your database.
You have to send an email to the developers because this PVM - Pattern Viewer and Manager is not sold anymore and besides, it doesn't allow me to install it properly since I lack a license for the software.
You can use the following address to reach their website. The email address is in a pink square on the main page. Use that to ask for additional information.
